Instructor Training & Crossover Seminar — Spring 2026
We are pleased to announce the IYSA Instructor Training and Crossover Seminar for sailing and motorboat pleasure craft instructors, scheduled for May 16–23, 2026 in Fethiye, Turkey.
The seminar is open to yachtsmen who wish to become professional IYSA instructors and meet the entry standards, as well as to certified instructors from other yachting associations seeking to complete the IYSA crossover programme.

The seminar combines theoretical sessions and practical on-board training in the waters around Fethiye, covering all levels of IYSA instructor certification for both sailing and powerboat disciplines:
- Instructor qualification standards — IYSA methodology, teaching techniques, student evaluation
- Practical on-water instruction — supervised teaching sessions aboard a sailing yacht
- Seamanship & safety — MOB procedures, COLREGS, coastal navigation
- Certification assessment — written and practical examination on the final day
- Crossover track — adapted programme for experienced instructors from other associations (RYA, IYT, ASA, etc.)
Vladimir Polyakov
Vladimir Polyakov is an IYSA Instructor Trainer (IBBS-0017) and Instructor Trainer of Trainers (ITBBS-007) with over 8,200 nautical miles of logged sea time across Turkey, Croatia, Cyprus and Thailand. He holds the Yachtmaster Ocean qualification and has personally trained more than 87 cadets and 6 instructors under the IYSA programme.
